Integrity is Everything
Integrity.... I’ve been thinking a lot about that word recently. There are numerous opportunities for integrity in everyday life, yet we seldom see it carried out in our daily lives.Too often, thoughts and actions are ruled by jealousy, animosity, anger, emotional road-blocks, or even the fear of not fitting in. It’s especially disheartening when those with the slightest power or notoriety try to coerce their own agenda – without integrity – for the sake of perpetuating a power-high. When this happens, integrity isn’t just lost, it becomes deceitful and corrupt. The really sad thing is that following that type of personality for sake of fitting in, instead of following what’s morally right, can be detrimental to living your truth. Worse yet, knowingly following the deceit of others out of fear of being left out can actually harm and reduce the effectiveness of your own healing journey.
We all know how important compassion is for healing. The @MedicalMedium says, “without compassion true healing isn’t possible.” Well, integrity goes hand-in-hand with compassion. While compassion is gained from your own vulnerability, paired with concern for others who are suffering, integrity is the quality of being honest and honorable in your actions.
The dictionary defines integrity as "firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values." More directly, integrity is about doing the right thing, even when it’s not acknowledged by others or convenient for you.
Anthony William has asked us ALL to support others with the hope, compassion, and wisdom we’ve gained on our own healing journeys. That mission alone brings purpose to our lives, but integrity MUST be factored in as part of that support. Because without integrity, we really don’t have much, and compassion will fall to the wayside. If we don’t uphold the values that Anthony puts forward in our own lives and our own selves, through true integrity, we miss out on being truly compassionate as well. That doesn't mean always being perfect, but it does mean always working toward excellence.
When we use language destructively or we say things we don’t really mean, we actually lose personal power. But, when we speak from a place of wholeness, our words match our actions and compassion takes true hold. Compassion — through integrity — is the soul of truth, honor, and purpose. And that’s how we can honor ourselves and truly heal.
The good news is that integrity is a behavior-based virtue we can cultivate over time. We can set a goal to show more integrity in everyday life and we can reach that goal by practicing behaviors that are always honorable — even if they go unnoticed. That mentality will honor our truth, perpetuate compassion, and ultimately lead us to true healing.
Words are powerful forces of creation. How good are you to your word?
I choose in to live with integrity.
